There was food, music, entertainment and camaraderie. Various groups - BECs and Ministries, were selling food and drink or miscellaneous items. It was a great day of fellowship with friends and family in the parish.
Here's the message of parish priest Fr Lawrence Andrew, who was very happy with how the Family Day turned out:
"My dear Parishioners! You are truly a Blessing to the Church. Despite obstacles, you made the day special for many. The children enjoyed, the poor boys enjoyed, the youths enjoyed, the not so young enjoyed, the Senior Citizens enjoyed and above all we shared our joy with some who are marginalised. Yes all had a place in our Day of Family. There was happiness in the people who came for this fellowship called Family Day. We thank and praise God for all of you. Surely St Francis Xavier has been interceding for us. It was a blessed day. Blessings to all. Thank you FD Committee and all who helped to make the DAY special for all. I will remember you all at Mass this morning."
A hearty congratulations tot the organising committee who worked to make this celebration a success. Proceeds for the stalls will be used to supplement funding of the BEC and ministries' activities.
Fr Lawrence Andrew, Fr Norris & Fr Alvin further added:
"Many have expressed their joy in seeing a successful Family Day. Truly 'We Are Caring Families'!! "People of all ages interacted well.” “Children performed brilliantly.” “Our Youth sang beautifully.” “The East Malaysians entertained the crowd with their traditional dances.” “The seniors were agile & entertaining.”
