During our March BEC (St Francis of Assisi) meet, our Liturgy Coordinator Cecelia Ong led the group in a candle light walk reflecting on and re-enacting Jesus Christ and his apostles’ time in the garden of Gethsemene.
It was a surreal experience of doing the Way of the Cross, though we were in the garden of the home of our BEC members Dato Seri Roger & Datin Seri Valerie Tan.
After the walk we adjourned into the house to continue with our BEC reflection.
There was a dialogue narrated by the youths followed by a discussion on the experience of a girl attempting suicide and a gentleman talking her out of it. We then shared our feelings and experiences about both the roles played in small groups. The sharing session was deeply moving for everyone present recalling the suicidal person, since it is so real in today’s world with challenges faced by young adults in this fast moving world.
Then the scripture reading on Discernment was read and for the reflection the hymn of ‘I thank my God’ was played while the members reflected on the lyrics in the silence of their hearts.
After that a short video presentation on “Go light the world” was shown reminding us to bear witness to God s salvation and carry his light to the world.
The night ended with the closing prayer by the host and fellowship.
