SS2 BEC visits SSVP boys’ home

On Sunday afternoon, 26 February 2017, 19 members and friends of SS2 St Anne BEC led by their Chief Coordinator Paschal Heng, came in full force with lots of food, gifts and love to render support for the SFX SSVP (Society of St Vincent de Paul) Education Home, Rumah Pengajian Xavier (RPX).
The Home residents (the 11 boys) welcomed the visitors with two presentations i.e. chicken dance being the Year of Rooster and a skit on their lives in RPX which emphasises empowering them with Education and Good Character building, their daily responsibilities as residents and their potential career path that they can aspire to take. This was followed by a presentation by brother Raj on the expansion plans of RPX so that intake can increase from the present 14 to 28.
After that, an ice breaker session was led by Elizabeth Choo from SFX Lifeline. The children were separated into 2 groups, where one group had to portray “love” without speaking, while the other did “caring”. Both groups did very well and were presented with a small gift for their efforts.
The BEC members then presented gifts to the beloved house mother and the home administrator. Each of the boys, house mother and the home administrator also received several "ANG PAUs". Their generous donation in cash and cheque was then presented to kick start our renovation and building fund. The session ended with a scrumptious tea spread and drinks.
Message from SSVP: “From the bottom of our hearts, we cannot thank enough the love and support so generously given by SS2 St Anne BEC members to us and our wards at RPX. In this long and challenging journey to raise funds for the RPX Home expansion we entrust our faith in our Almighty God, because nothing is impossible with God. May God bless all of them and their families abundantly!!”
